I've been learning more about autophagy and the mTOR pathway lately and posting articles on the site.
Basically autophagy is cell recycling (both of cells and mitochondria) that happens during times of less food availability or that is promoted by certain factors, and it could have a role in cancer prevention and in other aspects of health.
It's very interesting to learn about how Rapamycin, a TOR inhibitor that has had some good reviews in clinical trials for NF and also good results for tuberous sclerosis which is similar to NF, is a potent stimulator of autophagy.
It's very interesting. Autophagy is just starting to be researched more, at a basic molecular biology level, and perhaps the research will come to yield more clues.
I've been researching natural health for seven years and am amazed by how it's sometimes possible to do small things that make a cumulative difference.
